Everything or Nothing

"are you chinese?"

i suspect this means

1. "are we the same?"
2. "how different are we?"

i got that twice yesterday.

come to think have no idea what they mean, there is no right answer.

so if i can speak english better than mandarin i cannot befriend you huh!
