Anchors
Being one who needs alot of time to recharge, i guess it was apparent all along that im no multitasker. and hence i have different people i run to during different times. girls that are for fun(hah!), and friends that have morhped into family on a different level, anchors in my heart. The latter tend to run in stealth mode like manner, not necessarily people i contact on a regular basis, just people who love me in my weird package. the thought of them is enough to make me feel blessed even though im not quite popular culture standard. N was my anchor in sydney, so i hope she comes home soon.
ANYHOW. the purpose of this post is to tell you about Shirlyn who has been that sort of anchor for my heart when i was growing up. it was a very lonely journey for many reasons and amidst many beers and tears that she didnt see, she kept me afloat in ways she never knew. over many years we have become friends and i am very bitter thinking bout how i missed her launch. which i have to urge you folks to attend! catch her on the 7th April 2007 at the esplanade outdoor theatre or alternatively check the album out at the lovely timbre on the 14th April 2007. and buy the album on my behalf for goodness sake. or better yet, do that and send me a copy! i KNOW im missing out, but why should you!?
and shirlyn, im duper proud of you and if i were there, you would see me happily sitting in my dark corner cept the difference is ill be smiling to myself all night. keep doin what you are doing, i love you much. :)
Happy easter all.
